Title: Sales Associate

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week.

Start Date: Apr 2, 2024

  • MUST have 3 – 5 years in a customer service & sales role in an Canadian OPTOMETRY/OPTICAL environment.
  • We are located at Markham/Scarborough border http://www.eyetelligence.ca
  • We do not hire students or part-time workers.
  • We do not provide LMIA to candidates. MUST be Canadian Citizen or PR holder.

 

Job Description:

  • Primary focus – Optical Sales
  • Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner while establishing rapport.
  • Handle phone calls, appointment bookings and process clinic emails.
  • Perform insurance predetermination, reconciliation, and patient data validation.
  • Process all required patient forms.
  • Educate patients about their prescription and their lifestyle needs for optimum vision.
  • Assist patients with frame & lens selection and styling.
  • Take measurements using the advanced computerized measuring tools.
  • Manage lab orders, enter accurate patient information, and provide insurance forms and receipts.
  • QA all jobs received from the Optical Labs.
  • Notify patients when their eyewear is ready.
  • Manage invoicing and payment collection.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as required.
  • Confirm appointments and manage patient rebooking.
  • Maintain cleanliness procedures and standards.
  • Participate in personal and team development training and initiatives, including staff meetings, continuing education, and conferences.
  • Ask the clients to provide google reviews.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, leadership team, suppliers, and the public.


Qualifications:

  • MUST have 3 – 5 years of customer service and sales experience in an OPTOMETRY/OPTICAL environment.
  • Education in Opticianry or Optometry is considered beneficial.
  • Detail-oriented & Organized.
  • Strong mathematical skills and English writing capabilities.
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Proficient computer skills at the Canadian Grade 11 level.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in sales/administration in a high volume or luxury environment is desirable.

Compensation:

  • $20-30 per hour (paid biweekly)
  • Individual sales bonus (paid monthly)
  • Late morning shifts (10am-7pm). Closed on Sunday/Monday.
  • Closed on all long weekends.
  • 3 paid sick days for employees who have been with us for over a year.
  • Medical benefits (start after completing 1 year).
  • Once a year comprehensive eye exam along with a free lens (if required).

  • Closed annually from Dec 24th-Jan1st. High-performing employees with over a year of service will receive a full week’s pay as a Christmas bonus.
  • Starting with 2 weeks (10 business days) of vacation, increasing to 3 weeks (15 business days) after 2 years.
